Battlefield 6 Multiplayer Reveal

First up, and a massive reveal that took place just yesterday, was the unveiling of Battlefield 6 multiplayer. We finally got a look at the insane gameplay we can expect later this year. Yes, Battlefield 6 is launching on October 10th, and in exciting news, an open beta will be live over the next two weekends (dates on screen now). No, you don’t have to pre-order to participate. The gameplay looks like the golden days of Battlefield 3 but with modern improvements — and it looks bloody incredible. At launch, we’ll get 9 multiplayer maps, over 20 weapons, a full single-player campaign, an expanded Portal mode for custom maps, and even a tease of a free-to-play battle royale. This package is shaping up to be incredible, and I can’t wait to dive in.

Fragpunk Joins Game Pass

Quick news — the free-to-play game Fragpunk is joining the Xbox Game Pass library (cloud-only version). This means you can now play this card-changing FPS on any device, as long as you have a stable internet connection. It’s likely that additional content or perks might get added to Game Pass subscribers too, so keep an eye on the perks section for Fragpunk bonuses soon.

Frostpunk 2 Arriving September 18th

From 11-Bit Studios, we’ve got confirmation that Frostpunk 2 is arriving on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Game Pass on September 18th. Set 30 years after the original, you’ll lead a desperate society through a frozen world. This sequel introduces rival factions, dynamic weather, and strategic planning. The PC version has received stellar reviews, and with optimization for console controllers, expectations are high for its Xbox launch.

Hurdling Release Date Confirmed

Surprisingly, we now have a release date for Hurdling, a Game Pass title revealed last year from the devs behind Far: Lone Sails and Far: Changing Tides. This single-player adventure involves guiding curious cattle across breathtaking yet ruined landscapes filled with danger and tough choices. It launches on August 21st and is now available to preload.

Octopath Traveler Zero Announced

From a recent Nintendo showcase, Octopath Traveler Zero was announced by Square Enix — a standalone prequel to the critically acclaimed RPG. Launching December 4th on Xbox Series X|S, it includes a customizable protagonist and builds on the mobile story of Champions of the Continent. Though it’s a bit odd, the reinterpretation with new content looks solid, and pre-orders are already live.

Monster Hunter Stories 3 Revealed

Continuing the announcements, Capcom revealed Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, coming to Xbox consoles in 2026. The game features Azuria’s heir and Princess Eleanor exploring a crystal-infested world in this third installment of the turn-based RPG spin-off. Fans are thrilled, especially after the four-year gap since the last entry.

The Adventures of Elliot Announced

The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tale, another 2026 title from Square Enix, was also revealed. With HD-2D visuals and action-adventure gameplay, this journey spans time and space. Players can explore untamed continents, unlock strategic support from a fairy companion, and battle enemies with unique mechanics.

Chronos: The New Dawn Coming in September

From Bloober Team comes Chronos: The New Dawn, launching this September. You play as a “Traveller” working for the Collective, searching for time rifts that send you back to 1980s Poland. Though it’s a horror game (which I usually avoid), the trailer looks bloody brilliant, and it’s worth adding to your watchlist.Heavy Gear 3 Reboot

A surprise reveal was Heavy Gear 3, an immersive sci-fi action RPG with mech combat, built in Unreal Engine 5. Not much has been shown yet, but after the failure of Heavy Gear Assault, longtime fans hope this reboot delivers something special.

Realistic Firefighting Simulator Coming Soon

Another simulation title is also coming this year — a realistic firefighting simulator. You’ll play as a US firefighter handling high-stakes missions, from grease fires to explosive hazards. Solo players can team with AI, or jump into 4-player co-op. The game drops on September 9th and features officially licensed firefighting gear and Unreal Engine 5 visuals.

New Puzzle Adventure: Hela

If you’re tired of repetitive gaming tropes, Hela is one to watch. It’s a new action-adventure puzzle hybrid, set to launch in 2026. With a mix of puzzles, exploration, and magical abilities — plus co-op features — Hela looks like it could hit the sweet spot for those seeking something fresh.

Survival Horror FPS: Beneath

Next, an upcoming survival horror FPS titled Beneath is making waves. Launching later this year, it blends stealth and scarce ammo mechanics from Metro with supernatural horror in a Lovecraftian ocean setting. The devs, fans of F.E.A.R., are aiming for a one-and-done full-length narrative shooter — no microtransactions, no online mode.

Slime Rancher 2 1.0 Release

Slime Rancher 2 finally leaves early access and hits full 1.0 release on Xbox Series X|S on September 23rd, with a physical edition coming too. While it’s not returning to Game Pass (yet), fans of the adorable, chaotic slime-farming sim will be excited.

Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster

Final Fantasy Tactics: The Invalides Chronicles is coming to Xbox for the first time ever on September 30th. A remastered version of the classic PS1 tactical RPG, it includes voice acting and other enhancements. It’s a major milestone for Xbox fans, possibly signaling more Final Fantasy titles heading our way.

The Cabin Factory – A Console Exclusive

Another game — The Cabin Factory — is arriving on Xbox (console exclusive for now). You play as an inspector reviewing haunted cabins on an assembly line. It’s a short but spooky horror experience (~2 hours), well-received on Steam for its variety and replay value.

Pac-Man World 2 Repack

Bandai Namco is celebrating Pac-Man’s 45th anniversary with Pac-Man World 2 Repack, a remake of the PS2 platformer, launching on September 26th. It introduces local co-op with Pac-Drone, new missions, unlockables, and enhanced visuals.

Kojima’s OD Coming to Game Pass

Next up is Kojima’s mysterious project, OD, an Xbox-published horror game coming soon to Game Pass. Kojima says it’ll be “loved or hated,” with deep emotional responses. He isn’t worried about initial reactions, stating that the true value may be realized decades later. Fingers crossed we see more at Gamescom or The Game Awards.

Once Upon a Katamari Announcement

Last but not least, Once Upon a Katamari has been announced — a brand-new entry in the quirky Katamari Damacy series. Set across different historical eras, it adds new gameplay mechanics like magnets and time freezes. The game launches on October 24th, both digitally and physically.
