So first of all we’re talking about the prices. You guys know that GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 had their editions. GTA 5 had a standard edition, a special edition, and a collector’s edition. Standard was $60, the special was $70, and the collector’s edition was $150. So there are rumors that are circulating that GTA 6 is going to cost $150.
I want to let you guys know that this is just a rumor, it is not confirmed. And even if it is $150, I don’t believe that this will be for the standard edition. Because GTA 5 was $60 and now they’re saying it’s going to be $70 for GTA 6 standard edition according to reliable sources. So if it is going to be $150 or even above which is possible, then this will be pretty much for the collectors or I’m going to say the ultimate edition, the highest one. Because around like almost a year ago, last year in 2023, Astral the CEO of Tech Interactive had a conference call, which they were also basically guys, where they were basically like giving some information about the stocks, you know, the earnings, the revenues for fiscal 2023. And they’re also talking about some information about fiscal 2025.
So here’s the clip. Part of what you’ve been able to do too is raise prices. Even though consumers are a little more cautious about things, what have you seen in terms of your ability to connect with people and to have pricing? Well, on a real basis, of course, we’ve been lowering prices for a long time because we haven’t even kept up with inflation, not even close over the past 20 years.
We offer this extraordinary amount of entertainment because people will play an individual game for 30, 50, or 100 hours or more. So people price their entertainment at a basic price per hour and the terminal value of owning the item if they own it.
So what you’re saying is that you can get the game for $150, but you can play for an hour’s concert. On the other hand, you can pay $70 and you can play hundreds of hours. Of course, I mean, GTA 6 is going to be guys, the biggest game in gaming history. So obviously, of course, it will take us like, you know, a few hours to complete the game. But of course, you know, it’s going to be here for a few years.
So of course, we’re going to be playing this game for hundreds of hours. So this is what they’re trying to say. We’re going to pay $70 to play hundreds of hours. Well, if you want to pay $150, you can play for two hours. So they are not saying that the game is going to be $70, the standard edition. But from that, we can tell that the price is most likely going to be $70.
So those who are circulating like $150 like that, as of now, they are now true. But of course, if Rockstar announces different editions for GTA 6, which of course is likely going to happen, then the price, I mean, the $150 can be for maybe the collector’s edition, just like GTA 5, where you can get like a cap, some accessories, you know, or maybe the ultimate edition, I’m going to say.
I mean, I don’t know whether they’re going to call it collector’s edition or ultimate edition. But my point is, guys, that there is no way that this video game is going to cost you $150 at the lowest price. Guys, in the recent conference call, which happened around a few weeks ago, you know, for Taken Interactive, according to Starz, the CEO of Taken Interactive has said that they are expecting to earn $7 billion in fiscal 2025. This means from this year, April 2024, until next year’s March 2025. But of course, the only way for them to earn that $2 billion, is because as of now, they made $5 billion so far. So of course, if they want to reach $7 billion, then obviously they have to sell GTA 6.
But of course, they cannot, you know, rush the game. They cannot, you know, rush just to release the game early. While on the other hand, some stuff is yet to be, I’m going to say, designed or I’m going to say fixed. Maybe there are some bug issues.
I mean, you guys know GTA 6 is currently still in development. So my point is, guys, that there’s, I mean, it’s not possible. They cannot rush just to release the game early before March 2025, so they can earn the two remaining billion dollars.
They just want to make sure that this game is going to be fully prepared. You know, they are investing $2 billion, guys, in this game. For $7 billion, we’re talking about in general net revenue, which is coming from Strava Steel League, the CEO of TIG Interactive. We’re talking about the company’s net revenue, not GTA 6.
So guys, if we want to do a quick recap just before we proceed to the second topic, the price is most likely going to be $70. Again, on the off day, this is not confirmed, but if GTA 5 was $60, then this game will most likely be $70. Because, guys, there’s a high chance that GTA 6 is going to have its additions.
Maybe two, maybe five different additions. We never know. But my point is that the lowest price is most likely going to be $70, which is, guys, the standard price, or I’m going to say the standard edition. For example, as you guys can see on the screen, some websites have already begun doing pre-ordering services.
So, for example, I came across the gamevo.com website, where they’re selling, or I’m going to say doing the, you know, like the pre-ordering thing for 98.62 euro. You guys can see, that below we have the smart price as well. First of all, guys, I’m going to say that again, just don’t, just don’t buy, like don’t spend money. Because Rockstar has to announce the official release date of GTA 6, so then they can start doing pre-ordering services.
I’m sure that on the website, Rockstar Games, we’re going to be having the lowest prices. Because remember, if we pre-order the game, we’re going to be able to, you know, launch the game, play the game, I’m going to say, before it drops to retail stores. Because you guys know, for example, if someone like a retail store bought the game for, let’s just say, $70, of course, they’re going to sell it for $80 or even $100, so they can earn a commission.
So, I recommend you guys to, you know, spend your money on pre-orders, but not now. Even their websites are reliable, which in reality, they are. But again, I just recommend you to stay patient, and whenever Rockstar announces the pre-ordering services, along with the release date, you guys can basically check out their website, and pretty much, guys, you know, pre-order GTA 6.
And you can also choose the additions, whether you want to buy the standard edition, maybe the collector’s edition, like GTA 5, or the, I’m going to say, the special edition. Also, speaking of prices, I know that we moved on to pre-orders, but speaking of prices, guys, there’s also something important that you guys have to know about the prices.
I know I already showcased the clip earlier of Strava Stanley giving some information, but again, I want to share this information with you guys. So, here it says, Take-Two Interactive, the publisher behind GTA, has already released titles like NBA 2K24 and Marvel’s Midnight Suns at $70, instead of a traditional $60.
With GTA 6’s estimated budget soaring to $2 billion, a price tag above $70 has been speculated, though the industry standard may keep it within that range. Grand Theft Auto 6 is one of the most highly anticipated games in recent history, with a weekly deluge of rumors surrounding the upcoming open-world title, even after the GTA 6 trailer revealed much more about the game and story.
A recent rumor speculates that GTA 6 will cost $150 or more, with some of the community up in arms. Official pre-orders will likely go live when the game gets an actual release date, which will probably be shared during the game’s second trailer, whenever that may be.
