2. Rise of the Ronin
Our next game is Rise of the Ronin — where you get to experience an ancient Japanese warrior setting. This one recently released and has an excellent story. If you’re into the whole samurai vibe, with lots of gear, action, and solid mechanics — similar to Ghost of Tsushima — you’ll really enjoy it.
Speaking of Ghost of Tsushima, the Director’s Cut and the regular version are both amazing, whether for the story or the graphics. But Rise of the Ronin is a new take, starting in Japan and letting you uncover the changes yourself as you go. 3. Little Nightmares 2

4. Assassin’s Creed Series Highlights
Now, we can’t talk story games without mentioning the Assassin’s Creed series. AC 1, 2, and Brotherhood were amazing. Unity had a great story too, though its mechanics stood out more. The two recent Assassin’s Creed games I’m talking about here — I haven’t fully played both, but I’ve seen enough gameplay to know they’re worth mentioning.
One is set in Baghdad, with old-school mechanics and the iconic hidden blade returning. The story is completely different from Valhalla, though you do get a slight connection. The other is Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which just released. This one’s set in Japan with a female lead character. 6. Days Gone
Lastly, we have Days Gone — one of the best story games I’ve ever listed. It has emotion, friendship, action, and drama all rolled into one. Critics said it wasn’t great, but when I played it, I found it way better than what people claimed. You’ll feel the bond between friends, the love between husband and wife, and even the attachment to his bike.
